Hi, I’m Megan Callahan!
I help simplify nutrition so that you can get back to living your fullest life.
I created Your Mission Nutrition because as a daughter, friend, and dietitian in today’s world, I’ve become disheartened in seeing those around me stress over what to eat, fall for the latest fad diets, and ultimately letting food control too many aspects of their life. Diet culture is LOUD.
I am here to quite the noise and empower you.
How did I get here?
Well, I grew up on a farm in Southern Maryland. I have been surrounded by and loved food from the very start. I have also been an athlete my entire life. From Tee-Ball as a kid, to collegiate sports, and now a weekend warrior/endurance athlete; I am thankful my body is nourished and strong to keep me moving and conquering new challenges. But, it didn’t come easily for me. As a teenager I was diagnosed with Female Athlete Triad. My personal relationship with food was NOT good, and my mental and physical health were the consequence. My doctor sent me to see a dietitian, and that is when my world changed.
I learned how to nourish and fuel my body, and I could feel the difference. I had energy. I could think clearly. I was happier. My self-confidence skyrocketed. I wasn’t afraid of food anymore. I was at peace.
From then on, I knew I was meant to become a dietitian and continue helping those who struggle, just like I did. To learn to enjoy and love food all the while living a life you truly love.
I went on to receive my BS in Nutrition Sciences (Meredith College, Raleigh, NC) completed my dietetic internship (MUSC, Charleston, SC) and studied my heart out to pass the national board exam and finally became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. I have been working in clinical/ambulatory nutrition counseling ever since.
I have helped countless clients over the years from all different walks of life reach their goals while creating a healthy relationship with food, and I now have the platform to help you, too!
